Privacy policy

Gematrica is built to need as little of your data as possible. This page explains, in plain terms, what is and is not collected when you use the site. Last updated June 2026.

The short version

There are no accounts and no sign-up. The words you type and the settings you choose stay in your own browser and are not sent to us. We do not sell data. The only data that leaves your device is the ordinary information any website receives when your browser loads a page, plus, in future, advertising as described below.

What stays on your device

The calculators remember a few things to make the site nicer to use: your last word and featured cipher on each page, your number-mode choice, which ciphers you have chosen to show, and any custom ciphers you build. All of this is stored in your browser using local storage. It never leaves your device, we cannot see it, and clearing your browser data removes it.

Server logs

The site is hosted by a third-party provider. Like almost all web hosts, it may keep standard server logs that include your IP address, browser type, and the pages requested. These logs are used to keep the service running and secure, not to identify you.

Fonts

We load fonts from Google Fonts. When your browser fetches them, Google may receive your IP address and request details as part of delivering the fonts. See Google's privacy policy for how Google handles that.

Advertising and cookies

Gematrica does not currently show any advertising, and it does not set advertising cookies. We may add ads in future to cover the site's running costs.

If and when that happens, ads will be served by Google AdSense and its partners, which use cookies to show ads based on your visits to this and other sites. This page will be updated to say so before ads go live, and where the law requires consent for non-essential cookies, you will be asked before any are set.

At that point you will be able to turn off personalised advertising in Google's Ads Settings, or opt out of third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalised ads at aboutads.info.

Children

This site is for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes

If this policy changes, the updated version will appear on this page with a new date above. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the updated policy.
